Earth Electrode Solutions
Earthing – Single-family house with external lighting protection
Whether existing or new buildings, a functioning earth-termination system is the prerequisite for the safe operation of electric systems in buildings and for protecting people from dangerous high voltages.
The design and implementation of the earth-termination system are of central importance. When implementing the earthing concept, e.g. in the form of a foundation earth electrode, changes are no longer possible after the concrete has set. Omissions or errors during the construction phase cannot be corrected later or, at least, not without a great deal of effort and expense.
Carrying out an earthing study is a mandatory requirement for every new installation project.
The purpose of earthing in the electrical network is primarily to ensure safety. When all metallic parts of electrical equipment are grounded, there will be no effect due to dangerous voltages present within the equipment case, as earthing enables the discharge of the excess charges towards the ground.
Although if there is a failure of insulation material inside the equipment, earthing prevents the building up of electrical charges on the equipment by discharging to the ground. Nexpo has built its in-house capabilities in performing thorough Earthing Study based on the latest standards IS 3043, IEEE 80, and more. From reliable soil resistivity surveys and calculations to being standard-compliant at all stages, we help ensure that the responsibility of the businesses and safety concerns for invaluable assets are met.
